Hello fellow travelers we are cruising and this is one of our stops we have never been to before. Could anyone please help me with advise on a safe all inclusive day pass hotel with a beatiful beach, nice snorkeling, beach chairs and good food and drink deal.
Any and all help is a great help. We are trying to stay within a If anyone knows this info it would be so wonderful. Thank everyone in advance. That type of property is not typical in the BVI. I would suggest one of the snorkeling boat trips, but may not be do-able within your budget. Actually we are booked on the aristocat for a sail and snorkle we are searching this for our friends that are on our cruise also.
We found several in Antigua that were really nice and afforable. Thanks to any help out there. I am not aware of any "day pass hotels" in the BVI. On TortolaCane Garden Beach is a lovely beach with a of restaurants and bars. Brewer's Bay is another great beach and it has a restaurant. Actually the Long Bay Resort does offer a day pass for their property, contact them directly for more details and to book. You can also chat live on their site.
The resort is just across the street from the beautiful beach which is long and pictured in many postcards and at the top of the tripadvisor page. Great beach for walking or wading or just watching the pelicans dive.
We haven't snorkeled there, but one of the best snorkeling beaches Smuggler's Cove which is a very short drive away. No amenities at SC however. All beaches in the BVI are free and open to the public, and you can use this beach at no charge. You may even be able to order drinks from the pool bar with no problem. But the day pass will ensure you have a nice day there and I would arrange for that in advance.
Two other beach options are Brewer's Bay which is home to one beach bar Nicole'syou'll see several very good reviews from fellow cruisers on the Tortola forum on cruisecritic. Great snorkeling but no freshwater pool or day pass option. Or Smuggler's Cove for a gorgeous beach and bay with zero amenities and few people and great snorkeling.
You'd need to grab a lunch and drinks, and I would suggest the French Deli in Road Towntheir imported meats and cheeses are unbelievable. I have a sheet Nicole e-mailed me and she will send that to you upon request. The information included in her e-mail is below. The beverages are either alcohol or non-alcoholic.
This entitles you to use our Pool, no lunch. Should you prefer lunch inclusive of dessert and appetizer this will have to be at the '' Restaurant. As indicated in a previous email by Nicole, the charge will be separate. ADIT - they also say you can purchase the day passes at the pool bar or the restaurant but I would call or e-mail Nicole before going there just to make sure.

This was arranged just a few days before we arrived after emailing the hotel about a month before. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were taken to our pool-side suite, which was really like a small apartment overlooking the pool with a fantastic view of the ocean beyond.
The property is located on a steep incline across the street from a small beach and outdoor restaurant. The suite was comfortable, but we were suprised that they had opened the windows instead of having the air conditioning on when we arrived. Maybe it's just an American thing to expect. My teenage daughter was creeped out by a few clusters of small gnat-like bugs inside the room, but I assured her they were harmless and normal in the tropics.
The suite had a pretty cool outdoor shower connected to the bathroom. This is likely how the tiny bugs got in. After we climbed the hill to our room, we closed the windows and turned on the AC and fans to cool off. The views from the porch were truly amazing. The pool was small but perfect for the The pool was small but perfect for the size of the property and there was only one other person there during our stay.
We made the short walk across the road to the Islands restaurant for lunch, which is basically a pavillion on the beach. Lunch was great with a wonderful beachside view. The small beach was fine, again, we had the place to ourself. A pleasant change from the hectic atmosphere onboard the cruise ship. At the end of our stay, it was so nice to have a luxurious facility for showering and changing clothes before heading back to the ship.
For the price of a typical excursion from the cruise ship, we were able to have a wonderfully comfortable stay at a beachside resort. Thanks Sugar Mill Hotel! What a perfect choice! From the minute we arrived, we were in heaven Each had its own enclosed outdoor shower which was amazing!
The kids loved the pool. Use bug spray before dinner --it's open air building--as the sand fleas this time of year will get your legs This was the perfect place for a couple days of unwinding.
This is on the West end of the island. We will definitely be back on our next trip! We recently stayed at the Sugar Mill Hotel and were very happy there. We had a lovely room with a true island feel and a beautiful view of the ocean.
It was a bit of a climb to our 3rd floor room so a lower floor might be a better choice for someone not particularly fit. The pool was pretty and had hammocks around for a little siesta. The beach was small but very nice and not at all crowded when we were there in June.

Long Bay Beach Club Hotel - Tortola
He said an unnamed couple from California acquired the property last September. He said the beach club is one of two hospitality-type properties that they own in the territory. In the meantime, the other building to be demolished and rebuilt will be one of the restaurants, Smith said. We sustained heavy damage to roofs, doors, windows, and we have already taken down the beach cabanas that remained after the storm.
They are all going to get new roofs and new interior designs, and that is all part of what the architects are working on right now. All Rights Reserved.Long Bay Beach Tortola

Shaking head. Why you go there? Just say nice and be on your way. You first one at their restaurant when it opens. You clearly have not been to West End or Long Bay over the past days- the smoke is sometimes overwhelming, particularly this morning. How many cancer clusters do we need before something is done?
The investors must be wondering if they really want to invest tens of millions of dollars in an eco resort placed in the middle of the path of toxic smoke. Not me. This aint one of nature little secrets anymore. Yesterday, the smoke was so thick at Long Bay, it could be seen to occlude objects only 25 feet away. Had I paid to be at an upscale beach resort and had to hole up in my air conditioned room because of a public fire that made my eyes and nose burn and went on for 8 or 10 hours, I would not review that hotel favorably.
Do you know how long it will take to rebuild this resort?
Beautiful day pass stay in Tortola from... - Sugar Mill Hotel
You want to stop because of a trash fire now, and prevent economic development and jobs over a year from now? At least! Sounds stupid right? O Wow was walking through that units just the other day, Awesome news Mr Smith, all the best with the new developments, hope to see it again one day? Name required. There looks to be a fair amount of resorts here.
Any suggestions regarding a day pass as well as restaurants to go to? I just want to have another option besides strictly staying on the beach. There are no resorts in Cane Garden Bayjust a bunch of small hotels. You can rent a chair I think from Myetts. I think if you want lunch there are places in RT that are better like Cappricio di Mare. Some of the restaurants in CGB do a buffet to deal with the influx of cruise passengers. I like Quito's in CGB.
You can do an island tour or go on a sailboat. Several places rent lounges and umbrellas and food. You can check the web cams that are in some of the threads in the Cruise Critic Tortola forum to get a feel for the beach. We like the drinks at Quito Rymers place, they are named after his songs Both are beautiful beaches, Brewers just has that old Carib vibe Log in to get trip updates and message other travelers.

Are there any resorts on Tortola that provide one day passes for purchase to use their outdoor facilities? No, Tortola is not really like that. There is one semi big resort You can go to any beach on Tortola and have the same thing you would have if you went to a resort.
Have fun, it is beautiful Do you know if at Cane Garden Bay, both umbellas and chairs are available? The photos I saw of the beach didn't indicate that. Also, does it get unbearably crowded there as some posts indicate?
Chairs yes, but I don't believe there are umbrellas. It will be very crowded because that is a very popular beach with cruise ship passengers It's a fun little area though and I think you will enjoy it. It is just hard to get seclusion, etc when you are part of a cruise ship exodus Someone posted that BB also has chair rentals but no umbrellas, but that there is alot of natural shade on the left side.
Do you know if this is true? Lots of shade. You ca easily sit in the shade while your partner suns On your left is the better area for snorkeling. Lots of pictures posted on Brewers Bay. Look at the thread about "Pyrate" and finding a "beach similar to Brewers Bay" in this forum I read on tripadvisor that the bathroom facilities at Nicole's Bar are disgusting and that is the only choice. The bathroom is what I call "Caribbean rustic" but it was clean Nicole's has a sign asking that people put their tp in the rubbish container and not flush it I will say by the end of the day the floor of the bathroom was slippery and wet sand "muddied".
Can't expect the guy to stop selling those to die for pina coladas to mop the floor can you??? Your on vacation! Rinse your feet off when you come out of the bathroom if the floor is wet.
